September 20/21 MLC Farm Charity Horse Show to benefit Equine Rescue

On Saturday, September 20 and Sunday, September 21, 2014, MLC Farm at By the Hounds will be hosting its seventh annual Charity Horse Show to benefit Equine Rescue a   501 (c)3 charity.  Over $3000 in prize money will be offered during the two days of competition.  On Saturday, the morning will start at 8 am with a pole division and two Leadline Classes. .Jumpers will follow and will begin with the cross rails,2’0-2’3, 2’6-2’9, 3’0-3’3 and finish with the 3’6 division. A $500 Classic will be offered in most of  the Jumper divisions with a $500 Equine Rescue Classic for the 3’6 division.  Sunday’s competition will begin at 8:30 am and will feature a $500 2’3 Hunter Derby, a $500 2’6 Hunter Derby and a $500 3’0 Hunter Derby. Prior to each Derby an unjudged warm-up class will be  offered.

A silent auction and raffle will begin Saturday and will continue throughout Sunday. Highest bidders do not need to be present to win. All proceeds from the auction will go directly to Equine Rescue 501(c)3.  If you would like further information or you would like to donate an item,  please call MLC Farm at (845)489-3925.

MLC Farm Charity Horse Show September 21 and 22 2013

On Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2013, MLC Farm at By the Hounds will be hosting its sixth annual Charity Horse Show to benefit Equine Rescue a   501 (c)3 charity.  $2000 in prize money will be offered during the two days of competition.  On Saturday, the morning will start at 8 am with Short Stirrup, Leadline and a $250 Pleasure Classic. Jumpers will follow and will begin with the 2’3, 2’6-2’9, 3’0-3’3 and finish with the 3’6 division. A $250 Classic will be offered in all the Jumper divisions with a $500 Equine Rescue Classic for the 3’6 division.  Sunday’s competition will begin at 9 am and will feature a $250 2’3 Hunter Derby and a $250 3’0 Hunter Derby. Prior to each Derby an unjudged warm-up class will be  offered. Winners of all the $250 Classic will win a Smith Worthington Bridle donated by Manning Restoration. The winner of the $500 Equine Rescue Classic will win a bridle and a sheet donated by Dolly’s Tack Shop.

2013 MLC Farm Horse Show Dates

MLC Farm will be hosting two horse shows this year. Both of the horse shows will have Jumper Shows on Saturday and Hunter Derby’s on Sunday. Prize money will be offered. Shows will be held on June 15,16 and our Charity Horse Show on September 21, 22. Call to request a prize list for shows.

Hurrican Sandy Relief

I wanted to give you a update about the coat and food drive today at MLC Farm. I am in total
amazement of the overwhelming community support we received today. As of tonight, we collected
over 100 (black 30 gallon garbage bags) bags and storage boxes of requested items. Along with several gallons and cases of water and
3 boxes of non perishable foods and dog and cat food.

With the help from friends and family of MLC Farm and the Crosswinds Equestrian Center and the Vassar and Marist Equestrian Teams, we separated all the items and loaded them up into 5 vehicles. These vehicles, left the farm tonight and  transported all the items over to New Paltz. We connected with a representative of the Long Beach Area and have made arrangements for all the items to be transported Monday morning.

Thank you and all the people who dropped off items all day. The first drop off started Saturday morning at 6.30am and continued till 5pm tonight. On behalf of the residents of Long Beach, I want to thank everyone who helped out this weekend. Based on the appreciation when items were dropped off, I know we have helped many people this week.

Vassar College Equestrian Horse Show

Congratulations to Vassar College and Marist College for hosting a great IHSA horse show today.

Marissa Lorussa was first over fences and third on the flat. Emma Cowan , Julia Moy, and Liz Connell on their ribbons in their classes and Caroline Sferrazza and Siobhan Reddy Best on a great horse show!! Congrats to all of you for a great horse show and a great day with Vassar College, Marist College and the IHSA!!

Fall Classic Horse Show

Congratulations to Stiletto and Emily on her fourth place finish in Crosswind’s Fall Classic Hunter Derby. Congratulations to Erica and Nostrovia finishing third in the Children’s and Adult Classic and Boone and Becky with their ribbons in their division. Great weekend!
